I'm relatively a newbie to the modern AV world, and I was wondering if there's anyone out there who lives in the nearby Chattanooga, TN or North Georgia area (I live between Rossville, GA and Chickamauga, GA) who is good with tweaking audio settings on a fairly mid to high end A/V setup. I currently have a Denon AVR-3313CI, an Oppo BDP-103, a Samsung UN46FH6030FFXZA 46' HDTV, a pair of Ascend Acoustics CMT-340 SE mains for the front, an Ascend Acoustics CMT-340 Center speaker, and a pair of Ascend Acoustics CBM 170's for the back. The room is 11'x25'x8' (2,200 cu ft). I've tried doing the Audyssey setup with the included microphone, and I was very meticulous with getting readings from varied locations with the maximum quiet achievable, but it actually sounded worse than when I set it up manually, and I couldn't seem get it back to where I had it before, no matter what settings I changed, even using input from the Batpig web site. What I was hoping is that I'd be able to get someone who'd be willing to come out (I'll pay for the gas and my treat of a meal out) and see what they could do with it. I'd appreciate any help that anyone might be willing to give me. I realize that's asking a lot, but I'd love to get this system to a better place sound wise. I'm a big audiophile, though I do watch DVD and Blu-ray media as well.

I’d suggest re-running Audyssey, but this time keep the mic in a single location at the main listening position. AudiocRaver at Home Theater Shack has experimented with this approach and feels it gets much better results. He has written some articles on the topic that you can find there.
