I was looking at getting some axiom M80's, but after finding out how much shipping will cost (I live in Australia) I'm also looking other plaes for some speakers. I saw these on Ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=14993&item=5715355502&rd=1

and was wondering if anyone had heard of them, as after a quick search I couln't find anything on the internet. Any thoughts or opinions on these speakers would be greatly appreciated.

I found their website at http://www.dreamacoustics.com. Within their website, I could not find anything to indicate exactly who they are, where they are located, etc. They did not have a dealer locator, so I presume they are an online dealer only for the U.S. I also was unable to find one single professional review of any of their products. I noted that their warranty is one year; most speaker manufacturers warranty their speakers for five years. While the speakers they offer are attractive looking, I would be leary of buying from a company with so little information available about them.

It looks like a white van speaker company to me. There are alot of these companys on e-bay like this. At least there not asking ridiculous prices. But I would be VERY skeptical. They look a little cheap to me. If you want to stay real cheap like this. I have heard Fluance and Streem are ok for the money, but are not giant killers. But thats just word of mouth.

They are definitely not white van. The company has a warehouse in Clayton. Melbourne. You can go and have a look at the speakers there before you bid. You should find the address via Ebay.

I purchased the DA-660 model speakers a few weeks ago off the same seller (its the next model down) and am surprised by the sound quality they have. I was a little cautious in buying them because they seemed a little on the dodgy side, however I paid $315 for them delivery included and have no regrets.

They produce very clear bass to low frequencies, and the clarity of the highs is stunning. The crossover is tuned well, and the speakers have an excellent range. Compared to similarly sized sony and accusound style speakers, they are equal if not better competitors.

The build quality seems fine, with rosewood MDF cabinets and high-gloss ("piano gloss") black fronts of real wood. They look very nice, and with the gloss/wood finish, they will blend into your decor like furniture.

The towers have dual gold plated binding/banana posts, and the centre/surrounds are just clips.

And if it is one of your priorities, as it is mine, they do go loud :) Mine are used primarily for music (rock/techno) and they do perform very well at high volume - on an average techno song, the bass drivers begin to distort on low, thumping beats at around 120+dB (measured on a mobile phone volume meter), however the mid/high frequencies remain clear at this volume. When first out of the box, the bass distorted at somewhat lower volumes, however after about 5-10 hours use they settled and this stopped, so if you do purchase these, ensure you run them in before getting too worried about this.

Sensitivity is not an issue if you have a decent amplifier/receiver,

Overall, there is no way you could find a better product than this for the same price, if not 5x the price. The retail prices listed on the dream acoustics website are realistic, these are easily comparable to $2500+ Sony and similar systems.

Oh, and though the delivery took a week, the seller has excellent customer service, rang me several times informing me of a delay, and was very pleasant to deal with.

If you have any questions about them, don't hesitate to email me at inferno_x_2001@hotmail.com .
