How bad are the quakes?
Tim sent me this on Jan 1 12

There was another 5.5 this morning and have been constant aftershocks since the origional quake. Even our local paper doesn't report them all as there hav been so many.

Actually I just read there have been 41 recorded quakes down there in the past 24 hours

It is a frequent place for Quakes to occur along the ring of fire. The February quake killed over 100 people, but fatal quakes are still rare.

Just remember for every bump in magnitude it's about 10 times more powerful. So a 6.5 is 10 times stronger than a 5.5.
