As most of you know I am all about the female vocalists, Everything from Amber Rubarth and Janis to Adele and Whitney, I appreciate female solo artists...

Anyway from being in italy, I have just been stuck on this women, I find myself playing her at least twice a day.. A lot of covers (if you want english) but nice presentation, and if you have a decent system, she will make it seem even nicer...

Sorry, not my cup o' tea. I think she's talented, but personally I think her singing voice abilities are not that impressive - she's almost talking, not singing...
I strongly recommend you to check out Ive Mendes is you haven't already:

I am familiar with Ive Mendes, her music seems to have echoes and has been fixed to death.
I don't think petra is talking lol, definitely singing, her italian is much more fluid, you can look up some of them are on youtube..

But I like different, I have listened to SO much music that I tend to grab onto anything a bit different until it feels domestic to me.

She is popular in italy and her music is art, it has a certain soul and life of its own when you really relax and listen to the entire piece...

Also something about a popular cover done a new way always interests me, some are done well some are not.

I agree some of Ive pieces are overly produced and "fixed to death" , but not everything.
3rd video i linked to - Pasporte - is better example of more purer vocal, less bs.

As for Petra - Like I said, I agree she has talent and she's making unique and interesting music, but just not to my own personal taste :)
If you have some examples of her singing something in italian - it probably be more interesting

Neat! Petra reminds me a lot of Al Jarreau with the percussiveness of her singing and the way she uses proximity (and distance) to the mic:

Like Al, I enjoy Petra's performance: it is entertaining and has a nice uniqueness; however, my favorite female vocals are a little more melodic.

Paramore is a very popular band, but generally too chaotic for me. However, I do like "Aint it Fun" and "The Only Exception". The latter is definitely in my top ten female vocal performances list. This is a very tame song for this high-energy band, but her "rocker" background comes through in the refrain at 2:55 giving it an honest intensity not many other female vocalists could pull off with such ease!
Thought I'd share this because Paramore is probably not on your radar, and this song maybe should be the only exception to that!

One of my favorite female vocalists is Florence from Florence + the Machine :)
