Anyone dropped ~10" in screen size and been happy?

Well, not happy, but at least not violently upset. I'm going to be moving within a year (from Alaska, so it's probably going to involve a shipping container or a lengthy stay inside a U-haul aboard a ferry) and I REALLY do not want to hassle and worry about moving my 61" Samsung DLP (mostly because I don't have the box and also because it's just so bulky.

I'm also hoping that my next house will have some place where I can put a front PJ, in which case I wont want the 61" DLP dominating my living room.

And I've got someone that wants to buy my DLP, plus wants to buy my spare set of 5.0 speakers I've been wanting to sell forever, as a package deal. So I'm thinking sell the 61" and buy a 50ish inch LCD or Plasma that will fit a little more nicely in an average living room (plus be easier to move, since it's smaller, and since I'll have the original box). I'm just worried that I'm going to be really bummed about the loss in inches until I can get a front PJ set up going, which could be 2+ years away and will definitely be at least one year away.

For a while after I moved, I didn't set up my 27" CRT and instead hooked up my 13" CRT monitor from the 80's. It worked fine for me, but I was happy once I got the 27" hooked back up. Seemed HUGE in comparison.

Maybe that's the trick. Hook up a smaller TV first after you move, and then hook up your new 50". It'll calibrate you to something smaller, so the 50" will seem like a big step up. :)

BTW, I know that I'm not in the same ballpark as you. I'm talking about 13" and 27" TVs, and you're talking about 50" and bigger. Oh, should I dare to dream of having a TV that big some day? :D

I went from 104" to 52" and I'm fine. You get used to anything.
