Anybody had new home construction done within the last few years?

Do you know where the drywall came from? Better hope it's not China.

"This is like the small wave that's out on the horizon that's going to continue to grow and grow until it becomes a tsunami," said Florida attorney David Durkee, who represents hundreds of homeowners who are suing builders, suppliers and manufacturers over the drywall. "This is going to become critical mass very shortly."

WOW, this will be huge:eek: Just like that plastic water pipes many years ago.
This should be a government to government case to compensate. On the other hand, we had this with lead in toys from China, etc. I guess one has to scrutinize products from China and spec it out properly? But even then, a lawsuit would be long and expensive.

Another one that will be a tsunami is the reverse mortgage deals.

I'm just fed up with Chinese. I"m good and ready for a massive tariff against them.

I just had a dose of substandard Chinese brass plumbing fittings, I had to pull my house apart to get out. The Chinese bolts in the hardware stores are just a joke, and will kill people.

These forums encourage it all. Best receiver for under $300. Translation, "What piece of Chinese junk should I purchase." The posts never stop.

We used to make damn good gear on the west. Now it goes for a fortune on eBay and our new Chinese masters are generally the only ones who can afford to buy it.

I have been blasting this junk since I joined up.

Is this really suprising? Everything in a corporate landscape especially in places such as North America boils down to profit and greed and not necessarily quality and customer satisfaction? This is a product of the economic system. It was not always this bad.

That story is like a year old. I thought it was odd that it was in the news again today.

Yes, but a year ago, it was not clear what was fact and what was fiction. Now we know it is real and very serious.

It was already determined that the imported sheetrock was the issue back then in Florida, but I don't think it was known just how wide spread the issue was.

So, the question is, is it still available today? I would hope/expect not.

And, if it is, why?

I don't think we'll ever know for sure if it is available. I'm sure there is some small store that is selling it somewhere and not knowing how bad it is.
