Were going this month & cant wait, this year will be our 3rd time seeing the show, one of the best jazz/rock/modern classical shows ever.

Some new clips of the show have finally been released.

I was at this show while it was being filmed.

I saw Zappa 7 times in 88. 4 shows at towson in MD and 3 shows at the Warner Thr in DC. I also work at a club in Baltimore when I am home ,and Dweezil played Last winter. The show was amazing. There were clips of Frank Soloing and Dweezil played right along with the video. That was amazing watching him solo with his dad. I also have a soundboard recording of the show that sounds amazing. And yes , I got permission to record the show:eek:. You will have a great time at the show HI-FI Honey......Enjoy

I sae Zappa in the late 70s. What a freak show (the audience). I've never seen so many hard core drug users in one place before. Its the only concert I have ever been to where people were openly shooting up in the washroom.

The music was great, but the crowd was one I didn't want to hang with.

All the concerts i attended in the 70's were like that, kinda ironic that the concert you speak of was being given by a well known & outspoken anti drug prersonality, most people think of FZ as a drug crazed mad man which is furthest from the truth.

Very ironic indeed. I had no idea at the time that he was anti drug, so the crowd gave me the opposite impression. Some friends filled me in the next day.

Funny I don't remember any of those druggies at the eagles concert I want to later that year. I missed most of the hardcore roch 'n roll concerts of the time. I was more of a folk, blues alternative kind of guy.

The Eagles in the 1970's might as well been Barry Manilow, not that i dislike the Eagles but rock n roll shows in the 1970's were full of drugs,it was more common than not to see the band doing drugs & drinking on stage as well as the audience.

Heck,i openly smoked pot, hash & opium at many a concert, for all to see, & i was not alone, the 70's were the drug years for rock concerts, not just Zappa.

Saw Zappa play Zappa last night and it was a freaking amazing show. Great venue called Higherground in Burlington VT. Small club that holds around 750 people.

Dwezil does an incredible job getting the arrangements spot on from his Dad's music. Also the quality of the musicians he has with him is top notch. My wife had never heard anything from Zappa so this was a completely new experience for her and she was blown away.

All I can say if they come through your town do yourself a favor and go to the show.:D

I saw the dead in the 70's and early 80's around 75 times,I think :D ,
I also saw most of the "Day on the green" in Oakland, and many many bay area legends in san fran and Sacramento,I saw all the greats, led zep,the who & the dead together, the winters bros, country joe, santana, van morrison, you name them and I saw them, and you name the drug, and I did it back then.I saw shows at the old waldorf, winterland, cow palace, dead new years eve shows,it was a great time for music, and the bay area was the nucleus .
anyway, you are right,in the 70's that was the concert scene.
I am glad I experienced it.I am 51,and the 60's & 70's music was & is my thing.

gladly no more drugs, just beer and tequila now. :)
