Hi all, new member here. I have owned an SW1500 from new (2006-7 cant remember exactly) and have been very happy with it despite many peoples opinions. My only regret is that I should have purchased 2.
I have set everything up an in another house with a bigger room and have had to turn up the volume level more than I had it set to in that past (about 3/4 way up).
Now I have noticed that there is a slight noise (low frequency random noise), I would need to post a recording to give a good description. Now it's only just noticeable in a silent room at my listening position. The noise is there even with no input cables or ground wire attached so it's internal to the power amp.
I've had a dig through the service manual and it looks like noise is coming from the pre-amp/LPF section and not the power amp.
What I want ask can anyone confirm this is normal? I have a vague recollection that how it was from new.
