I have a chance to purchase demos: Staff, Mite Center and Mite rears all for 1800.00 I really liked the sound they have, small cabinet but what a sound! my room is 15 x 26, i seat at about 20 feet from the tv, speakers.
My other choises were B&w 684, HTM61 and 686.
Also liked PSB T6, C5 B5 being the leaset expensive.
I will do 80% movies, 20% music, like pink floyd, foo fighters, alternative rock Hope you can help me.
Thank you!
PS, my receiver is an Onkyo NR906 145x7, will do 5.1 and maybe biamp the fronts?
PS2 Totems are 8ohms, the center is 4 ohms?? I will have to set my receiver to all 4to5ohms acording to the manual "it there is any 4ohms present) or my other option is 6ohms to 16ohms.
thanks again.

Totem makes great sounding speakers and I love their sound. The problem with em is that they are not the most efficient and require a beefy amy to drive them. The towers like you say are 8 ohms but I still would look at external amps if you go this root.

Having listened to Totem Hawk, Staff, Rainmakers, and Arro - I love them all. They're very well built and have a unique aesthetic that personally I find to be perfect for a living room. I auditioned all of them in the same room, and everything went through NAD equipment (both CD and amp) - 565BEE CD and 785 Receiver. Personally, the Totems are very musical to my ears and I think they are great for a listening room.

In my opinion they are better than PSB Synchrony but on par with similar B&W offerings - albeit the Totem's sound more involved and enticing (warmer?).

Hi, when you say that they are on par with B&W, which B&W series would you compare to the Sttaf?

Go with the Totem, you won't be disappointed.

Do you think sttaf 974.99, mite center 374.99, and mire rear 474.99 all demos on cherry is good deal?

And, do you think they will be enough for a room of 15 x 26 with a good sub? Thanks.

It is a good deal, the Sttafs retail for $1200. The Totem Storm sub, available in cherry, would be a good match.

OK, I made my decision, After going back and forth with my two top choices, Totem Sttaf and B&W 684, I purchased the ..... Six Eight Four!
To my ears, after auditioning Paradigms Monitors and Studios, PSB Image and Totems, I liked the B&W the best. So thank you for all your help!
My new set up is: 684 in front, 686 rears, and HTM-61 center.
Next, a sub, leaning towards Paradigms or REL.
