I like vintage receivers. They have an ageless "class" to them. The problem with vintage receivers is vintage/old parts. Typically they're way out of spec or sometimes just plain bad, effectively hampering the performance or worse. Getting them reconditioned is certainly a great option, if you think it's worth it. Typically people don't bother reconditioning less desirable models unless they can do it themselves which requires patience and a requisite understanding of circuits and soldering.
