Any Smallville/DC Comics fans here?

Quite an interesting season this seems.

Got Clark out of The Phantom zone within the first few minutes of the opener and did away with Zod by the end of the first show. So much for last seasons main story arc. Oh, Brainiac is gone as well. So much for an old comic book villain. ...but, since the ship still exists (I think), how can we be too sure? He made a better Spilke, IMNSHO, than a supervillain. No great loss here.

The Luthor boys seem to be playing both ends of the candle with Clark's mom and Lana, but I can't really figure out where Lana is going. She seems to be turning to the dark side. I guess having two duplicitous boyfriends finally fried her overly emotional brain.

Jimmy Olsen made a brief appearance as Chloe's squeeze and potting soil and now seems to be out of the picture, at least for now. I kinda liked the guy. The actor had an interesting take on him and seemed to fit the role quite well.

But, Green Arrow... now, THERE'S there's something they can run with. Seems to be an update with a few twinges of Batman thrown in. He's quite fleshed out for just showing up in two episodes. He seems to fit into the GA philosophy of being a do-gooder, bywhatever means it takes and they certainly showcased that already. Think there's a possible spin off with us guy? Heck, they were talking about that for that Aquaman character but GA seems to have him beat.

From this week's episode, it seems that he and Clark agree they are on the same side but their philosophies and tactics differ. Clark doesn't know what to make of him, but he does seem to respect where he's coming from. Now, Clark's REALLY confused.

Besides, ya neveer know if one of those green arrows is made of Kryptonite. (Only kiddin. GA's a good guy, or at least was)

...and Lois seems to be falling into the comedy relief role. Keep her in bikinis and we'll be fine.

I have missed most of this season. Shame on me. But our cable only shows the new episodes in std def. The HD shows are last year's. Total bummer.
Thanks for the quick update. But I think I'll have to stay away from this thread in case there are more spoillers. I plan on getting the DVD's when they come out, again. I only have the first 2 seasons so far.

Yes, this is what I meant. Not a comic follower so wasn't sure of the correct title for them:eek:

I knew what you meant. I think I saw this on last weeks coming attractions, too. The episode itself sucked, IMNSHO.

Could be a good season. Gotta keep that VHS fed, just in case.

which begs the questrion: who has made an apperance so far? H1re's what I see.

The Flash
Green Lantern
Aquaman, but since the guy who played him now plays Green lantern, who knows? New Aquaman?
Was Cyborg one of the JLA?

Anyone else?

Now, this is a new name.

I remember most of these form my days as a kid in the 50's and 6-0's. I picked it up again in the middle 90's right after they killed Superman. I kept up for a few years but dropped outta loop a few years later. But, I can't say I've kept up with the DC universe.

I do remember the Matian Manhunter, though. Is he still kickin' around?

You gotta take the good shows with the bad ones.
I was wondering about that 4th person on the JLA. Didn't notice the switch of characters by the same actor. That will be interesting; not appearing together in one show?

he's the bald, green guy that can shape shift

actually, martian manhunter was there from the 80's cartoons and comics - he really is part of the JLA... along with Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Batman

he didnt appear in the post-death superman comic books (I think) - there must have been a separate JLA comic book series

...but I think I know what episode you're talking about. Is it the one where thre thing from the phantom zone was fixin' to tear clark apart on the docks? Was theat big, bad hulk Batista?

And this mysterious, shadowed stranger saved him is the martuan manhunter?? Ineresting... Well, he does have many powers. In the old days his secret identity was that of a policemen. Wonder if that still holds?

If it wasn't for the flying part, you could be talking about any of several of my uncles, and one or two of my aunts. :D

This thread is old, but I have become addicted to this show. I'm watching it as I type.

Anyone still keep up?

I don't get it. These abbreviations kill me sometimes. I feel like swaring every time I have to go look these things up. It takes more time to research than it would to type it up on the other end. I tried using all these abbreviations for a little bit but people start asking questions and I felt like I was excluding people that weren't in the know. I know I'm in the minority here so I'm sorry for the rant.
