Any Smallville/DC Comics fans here?
Quite an interesting season this seems.
Got Clark out of The Phantom zone within the first few minutes of the opener and did away with Zod by the end of the first show. So much for last seasons main story arc. Oh, Brainiac is gone as well. So much for an old comic book villain. ...but, since the ship still exists (I think), how can we be too sure? He made a better Spilke, IMNSHO, than a supervillain. No great loss here.
The Luthor boys seem to be playing both ends of the candle with Clark's mom and Lana, but I can't really figure out where Lana is going. She seems to be turning to the dark side. I guess having two duplicitous boyfriends finally fried her overly emotional brain.
Jimmy Olsen made a brief appearance as Chloe's squeeze and potting soil and now seems to be out of the picture, at least for now. I kinda liked the guy. The actor had an interesting take on him and seemed to fit the role quite well.
But, Green Arrow... now, THERE'S there's something they can run with. Seems to be an update with a few twinges of Batman thrown in. He's quite fleshed out for just showing up in two episodes. He seems to fit into the GA philosophy of being a do-gooder, bywhatever means it takes and they certainly showcased that already. Think there's a possible spin off with us guy? Heck, they were talking about that for that Aquaman character but GA seems to have him beat.
From this week's episode, it seems that he and Clark agree they are on the same side but their philosophies and tactics differ. Clark doesn't know what to make of him, but he does seem to respect where he's coming from. Now, Clark's REALLY confused.
Besides, ya neveer know if one of those green arrows is made of Kryptonite. (Only kiddin. GA's a good guy, or at least was)
...and Lois seems to be falling into the comedy relief role. Keep her in bikinis and we'll be fine.
