Any News or Rumors on the Pio Elite 76txvi?

Is there any more info available on the fabled Pioneer Elite 76txvi?

I'm almost ready to buy my new receiver, and have kinda decided on the 74. However, I do not like a few features on that unit that are either missing or improperly implemented.

Any point in waiting for the supposed "76"? What is the expected arrival date for this unit?

Thanks.

It's all a crap shoot and more or less a guessing game. I heard that a replacement for the 59TXi was to be displayed at the 2006 CES...nothing was. Now I hear (again just speculation and internet banter) that a 59TXi replacement will be out this summer, AND that the 72TXi & 74TXi will be replaced this fall.

If there is any merit to any of this is anyone's guess.

I was thinking about getting a 59TXi but I figure it will be replaced sooner or later, so I'm just going to wait. Even then I might just wait even longer till HDMI 1.3 comes out so the Lossless DTS and DD formats can be sent over it when connected to a HD-DVD or Blu-ray player.

May i ask if there is a particular reason why you arnt considering other brands, such as a flagship Marantz, Denon or Harmon Kardon?

Rumor is that the replacements for the 72 and 74 are due out in Aug. or Sept. I have not heard about addition of new features though.
