Any Monolith Encore B5 owners here? Just trying to see what I can expect? I just purchased 6 of them for use as the satellite channels with my HT. I had been checking them out, but when I caught a deal for $39.99/pc, that was what prompted me to go on and purchase the 6 they had, I will get the last pair soon, provided these do the job I am purchasing them to do, which I have a sneaking suspicion they will do so just fine. Still I am interested to hear if anyone has anything they would like to share.

The specs say they 4 Ohm and relatively low sensitivity, so you are going to want to drive them with some decent power. They don't list a chart, so can't see how low the impedance drops.

For $50 each, they are a solid bargain ... a receiver that can handle 4 ohms will drive them ... for a sealed speaker, they have decent bass ... they can be a little bright ... they are good for Home Theater and TV

Thanks for the replies people. I appreciate it and the input was duly noted prior to placing my order. I have since received 6 of the 8 I planned to order, and ordered the last two this evening in fact. I have completely changed my main home theater space to a new Pioneer VSX-LX505 receiver, Monolith M12 v2 powered subwoofer, Monolith Encore T6 floor-standing speakers, Monolith Encore C6 center channel speaker, and now, 8 Monolith Encore B5 bookshelf speakers for all satellite positions of my system. All of the Encore series are indeed 4 ohm speakers, and other than the T6 floor-standing speakers, the rest are all of a sealed design. Nevertheless, since I have purchased, received, and then installed them, I have come to truly appreciate not only the sound these speakers produce (which is a sound I truly prefer over the Bowers and Wilkins speakers they replaced), but the subtle, yet attractive aesthetic change they have provided to my space as well. And while the B5s are quite a bit larger than anything I have ever used as a satellite speaker in the past, they look awesome in each of their respective positions, and with Dolby Atmos tracks/films especially, they truly have brought the surround and height channels to life in a way that even my wife has commented on several times at this point, saying how she never really noticed much of the sound coming from around her so much as she does now. After running DiracLive with everything installed in its place, the system as a whole is truly something special, and I have zero regrets with any parts of it at all, not even in the least. These are truly amazing speakers, and when I hear them, all of them, it is difficult to believe that I was able to put it all together for the amount of scratch I put together to do so! I am looking forward to many years of awesome movie watching and gaming experiences, both on my own, and with the family! Thanks again to those of you who stopped and took the time to read the post, and then to include a comment before moving on. I appreciate your time.

It's amazing frankly. I feel the same way about the Infinity Reference setup I have in my living room. RC263s for LR and Surround R/L iwth RC263 center and R162 in the rear. I have some nice subs but damn I got those speakers SOO cheap and they just sound great.

It's interesting you prefer them to B&W and yet I know these were so much cheaper.

I also think there is benefit to having all speakers in the same family at times. I know that's the case for my Infinities and sure it's the case for you here.

And that receiver is driving them all fine?
