hey dan - i'm basically a tube-junkie, but have given in to the avr-793 with jamo 670 'speakers and s1-series surrounds, sub and center. have put it in an as-yet empty room with terrible acoustics - and was pleasantly surprised to hear the output - am now putting in benq projector (best value for money this side of the world) - everything should be up and humming this weekend, but suffice it to say that the massive toroidal transformers on the 793 are unmatched by anything in this price range.
