I've been wanting to buy a new speaker system and I'm having my doubts between the logitech z2300 or just buying a polk psw10 and adding speakers to it (if that can be done) so I had a few questions:
-Which is better?
-If I buy the polk psw10 will I be able to connect any speakers that I want, if so how many?
-Is there a way to add another subwoofer to the logitech z2300?
-Or are there any better one for about the same price range?

Thanks in advance and thanks for the pacience

Oh and I want the system just to mainly connect it to my laptop and to listen to my ipod

No. I do not recommend you go with Logitech. I've owned three different systems by Logitech and Klipsch and they have all broken in less than a year! Trust me. I took good care of them. I didn't abuse them.

I know the logitech z2300 cost about $170. But you'll have to spend $170 three times. Just buy once and buy right.

I recommend powered studio monitors by Yamaha Commercial Audio.

Try the HS series.
HS 80 M $300 a piece.
HS 50 M $200 a piece.

Check out these studio monitors. Some are passive (which means they need amplification) others are powered.

Alesis Monitor 1 MKII Passive Monitors (Pair) $199. Although they're passive, you could hook them up to an inexpensive stereo receiver.

KRK Rocket Powered 8 Generation 2 $249.00 each.

Also, you'll want to stick with the same manufacturer and series when selecting speakers and subwoofers. It's not as crucial as when selecting a center channel, but it's ideal to go along with the same series.

I personally prefer studio monitors which can get down to 45 Hz. I wouldn't depend too much on the subwoofer.
