I'm taking suggestions...this is an area where I don't have a lot of exposure but would love to hear some suggestions.

Kurt Elling (1997) The Messenger (Blue Note Records), I guarantee you'll be blown away, any of his other stuff is light years ahead from the pack.

Johnny Hartman (did a killer album with John Coltrane), Ella Fitzgerald (numerous albums, especially the one with Louis Armstrong), Diana Krall (folks either like or hate her), Manhattan Transfer (especially "Vocalese"), early Nat King Cole (he started out as a jazz singer). That should keep you busy for awhile.

I'm fan of Diana Krall. Not only is she a fine jazz singer but she's an accomplished jazz pianist as well. A double threat.
