Well the season is almost upon us here, my old Mathews bow needs strings so instead of having it done, I sold it to the shop, they aren't worth much after a handfull of years, that bow was around $1500 and I got $500 for it, off of my new bow...

So today I shot bows for about 3 hours... I tried so many my eyes hurt...

I ended up falling in love with the Bear Motive 7, which I was thinking was $1300 stripped but that was the package price!!! The bow stripped is only $899 {internet can sell it cheaper but locally is much better since I get lifetime free labor and the owner is an awesome guy}...

So I bought a stripped motive 7, had him set it for 70lbs 31+ inches. He had the RTH package for $1300 but I didn't like any of what it came with, and my old bow had nice stuff but nothing compared to what I can get now... Bow is in Real tree camo as are all the add ons...
So I had him install...
a IQ retina lock sight {a friend of mine has one, I love it}
a Stokerized ss 1 9" stabilizer {these don't stick out 9" in front its on a funky mount that lets you balance the bow}
a QAD ultra HDX rest
an Apex Reactor quiver
plus the peep sight, d lock, and wrist wrap. I even bought a new case and wrist release!!! I figured buy it all new, everything except arrows, I have plenty of them...

He gave me a great deal, the entire setup for with the tru ball release and plano case {$200 on their own} for $1050!!!! I could NOT believe it, I figured $900 for the box, $150 sight, $150 stabilizer, $140 rest, $55 for the quiver, $50 for the small parts and setup, plus $200 for the case and release and tax I am thinking just shy of $2000, he really hooked me up...

Anyway I am going to pick it up the end of the week hopefully everything is in and put together by then...

Yes rifles are faster lol...
But here we have seasons, bow, black powder, bare hands {thats a joke}, shotgun, rifle, ect... It helps control the hunting habits and give everyone a shot... It takes a certain amount of skill to use a bow, discipline, and patience... I mean the easiest way is to just go to the super market, lol :D

Bows are for wimps. I use knifes. Slit the bucks throat and you will earn my respect. :p

I like to shoot. Sporting clays, that is, not really much of a hunter, but I can sure turn those clay plates into powder. I like Browning 525s, they fit me like a glove.

Me too. And the 525s are my huge favorite. Have 28 and 410 525s. "Fit me like a glove" is exactly right. Must be right for a lot of folks because very hard to find one, especially the Sporting models.

At 15 my first hunting bow was a Bear Kodiak Magnum 55-lb.

Actually met Fred Bear in the store when my dad and I purchased them.
Still have the patch he gave me that says, "Fred Bear showed me how."
Haven't shot it in years. Still stored flat in the garage.
No better kill than with a recurve , as close to hunting as you can truly get, most of my kills were with a 65 lb. recurve. (Bowhunting)
