I want opinions:Rotel RSX-1067 receiver, Panasonic PTAE 700U projector, Paradigm 110 L/R/C/ADP rears, Outlaw LFM-1 sub,tripp-lite line conditioner. Sony 400 disc dvd player. Do I need anything else? Set-up disk (I like Sound&Vision) and SPL meter (RadioShack).

And the 5th Element Superbit is worth every penny. Get Dracula superbit while you're at it (Special features get old after the first five or so).

what does the video setup disk show me?I looked into one, but I wasn't sure if it would really help my system.

the Ultimate Edition is the best of both worlds. It gives you the SuperBit version of the movie, and a disk full of extras. It's the first package to give you both. :)

if you want to just try that out, there is a simple version called the THX optimizer on many newer THX disks, like the Star Wars Trilogy or King Arthur. It lets you make sure your brightness, contrast, sharpness, and some other settings are at the reference levels for a THX-quality picture. Look for the optimizer at the bottom left corner of the set-up screen.

If you like the results from those tests, it may be worth your investment for a mainline optimizing disk. :)
