Antimode 8033

Are any of you actually using this product? If so, care to comment?

I am not sold on Audyssey EQ and at less than half the price of the AS-EQ1 the 8033 looks like an interesting alternative.

Very interesting option if it does what it says…thanks for bringing to my attention.

On a side note: I hadn’t realized the dollar had strengthened, which make this cheaper than I originally thought.

There is quite a bit of info on this unit over at AVS. It's supposed to be pretty impressive. It's the sub EQ I will be purchasing in the near future.

After reading through the AVS forums thread on it some weeks back I bought an Anti-Mode 8033 at the begining of this month. It does work well on managing room acoustics-especially for "funky" rooms! I am able to stick the sub back into the corner and get volume back while having improved acoustics (room boominess and localization is controlled more and the bass is tighter/more responsive.) Shipping was fast....three business days directly from Finland! I am impressed with it. To upgrade my low end further I just need to get a second sub and get/make some basstraps.

Transformers now sounds like it should have to begin with...more 'mass' to the kinetic weapons fire and crashes/heavy footsteps while the really low frequency scenes have a clean sound (the Ironhide flip has good volume and punch without seeming slightly muffled or 'rattling the house plumbing' at certain frequencies like before).

It is a surprisingly simplistic tool to setup with results that could've taken much longer. The Anti-mode successfully tamed some nasty room peaks in about 5 minutes or so.

just to update an old thread, if anyone is considering using this with a 2 channel preamp with full range stereo outputs, antimode is putting out a new unit. it will have stereo inputs and a few other nice tweaks for 2 channel systems. it will be out in november and cost $100 more than the current model which will still be offered. nice add, should have been done a long time ago IMO. see their site for the press release.
