I seem to be getting all kinds of advice in my search for either a great H/T receiver or separates. I am at the moment investigating the Anthem AVM 20 controller and tuner. It has received nothing but great praise from the professional critics. Anthem also makes several power amps. Just a reminder: I have B&W 802 speakers and I am trying to find equally great components for them. I would certainly appreciate any info or advice from any Anthem owners on this forum. Thank you.

Just stumbled on this forum and saw your question.

I have been living with the AVM-20 and a MCA-5 Anthem system for almost a year now. I have Paradigm Studio 80's for fronts and DIY speakers for all the rest of the system. The AVM-20 is very flexible and does a great job on 2 channel as well as theater stuff. Plenty of power available from the MCA-5, which they don't make anymore, with great bass punch and smooth highs.

I was in your boat last year and looked at almost everything out there. Most of the stuff toady is all very good, it just comes down to features and the dealer from which you can buy from. I would'nt give up my Anthem stuff though.

Hope this helps. Any qustions feel frr to ask.
