Hello All,

I am looking at the NAD T-747 the Anthem MRX 300 and the HK AVR 3650 all of which can be had at the 1000k price range.....

Can anyone please shed some light on which of the three would be a "best buy"....I currently have the Onkyo TX-SR606 and the HDMI ports crapped out....

Not really considering anything from Yamaha or Denon or any of the other "BIG" ones.....

Thanks!

The NAD T-747 is an older model and is getting harder to find. I bought mine on a blow out for a little over $500. If I were looking at a NAD receiver in your price range, I'd run and buy T-765 HD from Audio Advisor at $999, http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=NAT765HD. I love my T747; it is very musical and does a fine job of driving my speakers but if I could figure out another use for it, I'd snag the T-765 for $1k. It is a great unit at a really attractive price.

Um.. why?

Yamaha probably has the best receivers right now, and denon probably has the best processor-receivers.

Of the 3 the Anthem would be the best. Not sure what your objectives are, for sound quality your may gain from placebo effect. The 606 (from experience) should sound as good as any of those. Even in terms of power output the 606 will hold its own against those 3 except when all channels are driven. Even then it is a moot point as it's ACD output will not be anywhere near 3 dB lower than the NAD, HK and Anthem. So I hope your goals are well beyond sound quality and raw power.
