I was all set to get a Lexicon MC-4 but starting to consider the Anthem AVM-30 and I just wanted to know if anyone has compared these two against each other or know of a place that did. I googled each and both have reviewed well but havent seen them compared against one another

I know the Anthem has more options with it ( balanced output for example ) but i am more concerned about sound output and if one stands out in this area when compared to the other or if they are fairly close.

Im not asking anyone to tell me what to buy Im just looking for opinions on these two processors, I dont want this to turn into well you have to go and listen yourself and make the decision no one can do it for you type of thing which happens way too often when someone asks for opinions

If anyone has opinions on these two processors I would appreciate your feedback. my system is mainly used for Home theater with some music, Id say about 80-20

Thanks
Todd

I think both procesors are going to sound good. I have the Anthem AVM30 and it does very well with both HT and music. I feel the Anthem has more options and tweakability than the Lexicon. Also more outputs, inputs, and can drive up to 4 zones. Sonically, I would think they are equals. Therefore, I would go for the features of the Anthem as well as the lower street price on the Anthem.

I haven't actually had a Lex in my HT room, but have heard them elsewhere. Don't think you could go wrong with either unit.

funny how quickly things change, ended up going with the Anthem but stepped it up and ordered a 50 today. I have read and been hearing all good things about the upscaling of the 50 and the D2 that I figured I would pay more now rather then get the 30 and want to upgrade in 6 months

yeah it cost a little more but all the additional options will be worth it, HDMI switching and upscaling alone are worth it

should have it in a week or two

I envy you! :D You won't be disappointed with the sound. I am going to try and have the AVM30 upgraded to the 50 once the upgrade is available in the next 6 months. I had to take baby steps :) . I had to buy the AVM30 used as well but am very happy with the purchase.

You'll have to be sure and let us know how things sound/look through the unit...you lucky bas****!:D
