Just need a reality check here.
Situation:
Combination music/home theatre. LR speakers driven by 2 channel amp (or 2 monoblocks) optimized for music. Other speakers include center, 2 surround, 1 powered sub, and 2 outdoor speakers (for music, generally).
Is the following feasible:
Use 5-channel amp to drive center and surrounds (using 3 channels) and the additional 2 channels to drive outdoor speakers (i.e., second zone on AVM 30)? I know the AVM 30 allows distinct volume levels, etc., for Main and Zone 2. Anything special about the 5-channel amp I need to be aware of? I'm considering purchasing the first good HDMI-equipped DVD changer that appears on the market (probably next year); anything about sending output to Zone 2 from the Anthem if the input is digital? I assume I'd have to copy Main to Zone 2 in that case. If all audio inputs are analog, can I simultaneously drive Main from one input (say, cable to TV) and Zone 2 from another (say, DVD/CD)? And do I lose this capability if DVD input is via HDMI?
Whew, lotsa questions! Thanks for any advice!
