Hi- i just received my Samsung HD950 upconverting DVD player and managed to connect it to my Dell 42" plasma via the HDMI connection. I planned on setting the resolution on the player to 768p to match my TV's native resolution, which the manual and the online info said i could. the on-screen guide never showed 768p?? it jumped from 720 to 1080? what gives? the picture appeared great but could it be better? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Just a guess, but it sounds like the display may not accept the 768p input and is looking for a 720p or 1080i input to covert to its native rate with its own circuitry.

i guess that could be true but Dells website stipulates a 768 x 1024. something tells me it has to do with the Samsung, but i'm just guessing. if anyone else can think of ANYTHING else for me to try i'm all ears! i left an email message to Samsung requesting help but no reply yet. thanks-scott
