I have recently bought a new house. The layout is not perfect for good home theatre, but I will make the best of what I've got.
The room is fairly small and triangular in shape. I have attached a couple pics, and a drawing of my intentions.
I have Bose 5.1 cube speakers. I will be purchasing the Bose centre speaker, to make my system 6.1. This is all driven off a Pioneer amp.
The house had speakers wired up. But as you can see the speakers have been mounted very high, especially the rear speakers.
My intentions are to replace these cheap speakers with my Bose ones. At the same time bring these down to slightly above ear height (inch or 2 higher than the backs of the couches). The problem is my wife is worried with how this will look. She likes where the existing ones are, thinking this looks better. She doesn't grasp the concept of quality sound.
My question is, will this be worthwhile? Or should I just mount my speakers up near the ceiling where the existing ones are?
