Another Subwoofer location question

I am in the process of making some upgrades to my HTS. I am upgrading to the Mitsubishi 65831 Diamond DLP, B&W 804 Front L/R, B&W HTM4 Center, and a Velodyne DD-12. The space that my components are going to be placed in is 94 inches wide and 39 inches long. The TV will take up 65 of the 94 inches which leaves me 29 inches. That's good because I will have 14.5 inches on both sides which is good enough to place my two front speakers. However the stand that the TV will be placed on is 22.5 inches long and the velodyne is 15.5 inches long. That's where I think my problem is because from where my TV stand ends and where my sub will begin is only 1 inch. I did prefer to put the sub behind the TV stand because I was going to put the sub in the corner; but, since I only have 1 inch of space between the sub and the end of the TV stand, I think I may have to move the sub out front the corner and place it on the wall.

Anyway, I really want to know if 1 inch of space between the end of the TV stand and the beginning of the sub is a problem. Also, the sub will be sitting behind the Front L/R speakers and the TV stand which I feel may block some of the sound. Should I really move my sub from the corner behind the TV stand and speakers and place is near the wall so that it's open to through out into the room. BTW, my room is 28X18X8.

Thanks for your help

The sub/speakers will perform better in an unconfined location.

In this case a simple diagram of your room plan view would do a lot of good, and probably help get you some good advice. :)
