Another projection TV question

Hello... I recently picked up a used Panasonic 56" projection TV to replace my Sony that was breaking down. The Panny looks great. It is about 5 years old.

The issue I found with it (after bringing it home and setting it up) is that the image appears to have "stretched" and moved down. What I mean is that the image appears to finish up about 1 inch off the screen to the top and sides, and the overall image has "slipped" about 2 inches down. On all the settings. For instance, the ticker that you would see on ESPN or during a football game at the bottom of the screen is actually BELOW the bottom of the screen so it is not visible. I've cycled through all the aspect settings (zoom, full, justified, etc) and it is the same. Also, when there are the horizontal bars on the top and bottom of the screen with a 16:9 image the top bar is twice as large as the bottom.

Any idea what is causing this? I was thinking that a professional calibration might fix this issue since I can't seem to "move" the image. Remember with the old tube tv's you could move the image up/down and right/left to center it? That seems like what needs to happen here... any suggestions?

thanks!

Sounds like it's the issue. Do you have the manual? What's the model number?

2" is a LOT for the image to shift on its own IMO. Something tells me it isn't going to be in the realm of calibration, this is likely a physical shift in the optics inside the set.

Yes, I have the manual and it doesn't say anything about this issue.

The model number is PT-56WXF95

It's called Overscan and all RPTV have issues with this. The norm is 4-5% of image that can't be seen on all sides. A qualified tech can fix, but not all techs do this. Try to find the service manual on line and some can be adjusted using this.

BTW the service manual is completely different than the owners manual and is used by technicians. Some can be bought or offered on line.
