Hi, I want to utilize the component video OUT on my DVD player. I want to connect to an AV modulator which has the standard audio/video input (Red, White & Yellow). Is this possible? Thanks.

In that case it's pointless to use the component output. Just use the normal composite (yellow jack) output. Component video is only useful when you have a display that has component inputs.

I agree with Jaxvon. You will lose the benefit of using component by converting it to composite in the first place, so there isn't much of a point.

Then you lose even more quality by modulating it.

In terms of quality: Modulated video falls in dead last. Just looks horrendous compared to even regular composite video and not even on the same continent as component video.

Much better to run video cables to the display device if at all possible.
