I'm curious - why is it one ever suggests using RCA crimp connectors manufactured by Holland, Bomar, etc. in lieu of Canare? Granted, Canare's are nice, but they're not the only broadcast quality crimp connectors out there that work with Belden cable. That, and the recommended tooling for most the of the alternatives is readily available and less expensive.
For example, Holland makes an RCA crimp connector for Belden 1855 cable that you crimp with an IDEAL 30-582 die set and you prep with a simple cable stripper such as the RS 278-248.
The quality seems on par; am I missing something?
