Hi,

I want to amplify my laptop speakers, possibly put in some louder ones.

Does anyone know any good audio amplifier IC's I could use?

I am planning on using the LM386, is there any reason that it wouldnt work?

thanks

Sounds as if you are heading to ruin a good laptop.

I just can't see the rewards of this for the effort expended. You will have to have a circuit and layout diagram of your laptop, and make certain of your voltage and powering requirement of the amp ship. The you will need to know you can get the heat away.

If you increase the power to laptop speakers you will likely blow them. If you want better power and fidelity, then get external amplification and speakers. Your idea is just not worth the effort.

Laptops have headphone jacks, I recommend using them.
