Amplified cable splitter

i'm looking at getting an amplified cable splitter, i have a big mess as far as distributing coaxial cable throughout my apartment. let me try and paint a picture of my dilema, i keep having issues with my HD channels, with the audio cutting out, and sometimes the video will freeze, have pixelation, and a little snowy on non HD channels. the cable line comes in from the outside and connects to a three way splitter. 2 output ports on the splitter have a -7db rating and one has a -3.5db rating, the scientific atlanta 8300HD box is plugged into the -3.5 port, i have my cable modem plugged into a -7db port and the final -7db port on the splitter goes to a wall outlet, when i removed that wall plate there were two more additional cables one of which was plugged into the wall plate. i have no idea what the other one goes to, i have figured out that if i remove the cable that was attached to the wall outlet then i lose the cable signal to both bedrooms, so there must be another splitter somewhere in the walls or back in one of the rooms to feed the signal to the other room.

i was thinking about getting one of those power amplified splitters to try and see if that would fix my problem with the problems on my HD channels and the slightly fuzzy picture on my non HD channels. i have contacted and had 4 different techs come out and all they do is replace cable or replace my box, and none of that has fixed anything. i have requested a supervisor tech, but those requests go unanswered, maybe because adelphia doesnt have any, idk, all i know is im sick of dealing with the stupid reps on the phone who don't even know what HD stands for but they think they can fix the problem. i found this on the web but i wanted to see what all of you thought? i know its pricey compared to just replacing it with another cheap splitter but i am willing to spend a few bucks to get a clean non degraded picture on my tv's, specifically my HDTV. here is the website i have found: http://www.dropamp.com/29?gclid=CLvNpJ2I2YcCFQh6GgodzCF6qg

anyone have any experience with these? do you recommend another brand? thanks to all that post!!!!!!!!!!

i included a diagram to help paint the picture for ya...... the lines in red are coaxial lines, the blue line is just a line to the text box, the green line is the component video cable i have installed from the 8300HD to the hdtv.

They have less then 8 splits also.
Not cheap but when Cablevision upgraded our old house to digital
they told me that they would have to remove my HS8 because they
had never seen one work.
Oops! That was until they used my Channel Vision.
Cable tv, internet, cable phone all worked better.

GTF - which channelvision model do you have? i see that on the C-0329 8 port one it says that it has Bi-directional return path for use with cable modems and interactive TV. since i have both digital cable and a cable modem, is this my only option. i dont see that on any other amplified splitter. The other models state that they have a Bi-directional return path for use with interactive TV. is the bi-directional feature the same on all of these amplifiers or does each amplified splitter have a different bi-directional feature?

i only need 3 output jacks, but i guess if i need to get the 8 port to satisfy the requirements for my cable modem and interactive television to work then i will

I have the CVT-2/8PIA II which is bidirectional.
I ran cable internet service and cable phone service through it.
