Hi
this is my first post so bare with me, I'm farely new to the audio visual scene and need some guidance. I have Mission m73i fronts, m7ds surrounds, m7c1i center and the m3as sub, my query is what amp would be best for me for basically 50/50 music/cinema sound quality?? I'm petty much lost with technical details and pros and cons of amp brands but want to purchase a high quality product that will give me lots of use and good quality sound. The price is not a bother at the moment just want options and ideas on equipment that would suit this Mission setup??

There are literally thousands of different amps out there to choose from. Anyone trying to help would you benefit from: a specific budget to work with, your room size, preference of amp type (monoblocks, stereo, multichannel ), how loud you listen, music genre preference, etc. . Give us a little more to work with.

Ok

budget: $1200
Room Size: 15m x 5m

Youll have to explain the different amp types to me, like I said I dont know much about tech specs of different Amps but mainly want a good qqality sound for both music and cinema.

I listen to Rock, jazz, blues, hip hop and electronica and listen at all levels it depends on the moment and time.

Do you already have a receiver (unit that your CD/DVD/Cassette/etc. plugs in to that also has AM/FM on it)? Not being sarcastic mind you, just trying to ascertain if a quality receiver with higher power output might suit your needs or if you're past that point & are just looking for more power. Hard to suggest much w/o knowing a few more particulars.

What do you have now?

That's a pretty tight budget for five channels of amplification. My recommendation would be the model 755 from www.outlawaudio.com which sells for $1299 US plus shipping.

If you do not yet own a preamp of any kind you should instead consider a multichannel receiver which combines the amplifier with the preamp in one unit. Yamaha, Denon, Pioneer elite, and Harmon Kardon all make fine quality products. Each have websites that you can use to research.

Good luck.

No I dont have any reciever or DVD player, I'm a very lucky person that has been given these mission speakers from my uncle( bit spoilt  ) he is fiarly wealthy and upgrading his own system and just decided to give me these speakers. At the moment I have a normal cd/tape player and dont even have these speakers in action or heard them as yet, that is why I have come to you guys for assistance. s far as I konw these speakers are in very good condition and have been looked after very well, I have done a little research on them but not heaps. Looking for quality plus sound !!! :D

You want a class A/B amp. Class A is too inefficient, and class D has too much distortion (but great for subwoofers). Take your $1200 and get a nice high end receiver like the HK AVR7300. 7 channels of amplification and all the processing you'll ever need.
