I have a JBL HTPS-400 subwoofer that the amp went bad in. No problems, I got it for only $100 at an estate sale so putting a little more into it still gets a great sub for a bargain price. Well, I found a replacement external Amplifier for this. At another estate sale I picked up a Klipsch KA-1000-THX amplifier for a song. Now I am considering adding a second subwoofer in the near future. I am leaning towards either a second 12" sealed sub (another HTPS-400 would be idea) or a sealed 15" subwoofer. Any suggestions for which to look at? Amplifier is a 500 watt into 8 ohm, 1000 into 4 ohm, mono amp. Room is small enough that the one sub will be fine for now but hope to get this into a basement home theater in a year or two.
Note: If the next one is powered and the amp works fine then I will use it. If not having the option to use a second 8 Ohm sub (in parallel) with this amp is a good one.
