I have recently purchased a pair of Wharfedale xarus 4000 and am very happy with them. However I am looking at buying a new amp to run them. What amplifiers or recivers would you guys reckon to run them considering they are 200 watt and 6 ohms reccomended. Also i am based in New Zealand if that will be an issue.

At 90db, those speakers a pretty efficient. Look for a receiver that has the features you need. The speakers in this case will not be a limiting factor.

What is the power source now? Any problems with it?

Its a yamaha RX-V660, it goes well but was wanting something with a bit more power and probably a sub output

Is this setup part of a 5.1 or just 2 ch with a sub option?
If the latter, you can certainly use a powered sub, run both ch speaker cable to the sub and from the sub to the left and right speakers. Wire is cheap.

They will be part of a two channel system at the moment although i am alos looking at subs. Planning on upgrading to 5.1 in the future
