Power upgrade

I would wait for the emotiva XPA-2 amp. It should start shipping soon and will have more power (500 Watts x 2 or 1000 Watts bridged) than the RPA model.

Yes, but the RPA-1 runs cooler.:D They are both good amplifiers.

Are they outputting the same power? Perhaps they are not a to a :D

By the way, why do you think you need a 2 ch amp on top of what you now have?

I found the same thing with my paradigm studio 60 v2's. At the time I had a 85 wpc receiver and upgraded to a dedicated 250 wpc amp. The difference was quite profound. Better tighter bass and much clearer highs. Given that the 3800 is considerably more powerful that my 85 wpc receiver, the difference may not be as big. I was thinking of getting rid of the dedicated amp when I upgraded to the Denon 3808, but I decided not to.
