Sorry, I know there are other threads much like this one on this site, i have read them, but they have not answered my specific question.
I have a sub, and an amp. The sub is a Polk/Momo MM2124DVC. The amp is a Kenwood KAC-9104D Class D Mono Power Amplifier at 1800W.
In the Sub manual, in the back under subwoofer specifications, it says my sub has a Power Handling (watts peak) of 800 Watts. The nonminal independence of the speaker is 4Ohms, but I would like to wire it so it presents a 2Ohm load, through parallel wiring.
However on the box of my amp, under Key Features - Power output it has:
500Watts RMS x 1 at 4 Ohms and < 1% THD+N
75dBA (Reference: 1Watt into 4 Ohms)
500Watts RMS x 1 (4 Ohms, 20-200Hz, 0.5% THD)
900Watts RMS x 1 (2 Ohms, 100Hz, 0.8% THD)
Over 900Watts x 1 (1 Ohm)
Now I know literally nothing about any of this, all the above is just what I have gathered through reading. The red line concerns me, since i know nothing, as far as I can tell, it is saying that at 2 Ohms, (what i want my speaker to present) the amp will have an output of 900Watts, which is higher than what the guide says is the watts peak of the sub (800Watts).
Should I be concerned??
Secondly, on the self help website i am looking at (cant link, not enough posts yet) it talks about stereo amps, not mono amps, is this another problem?
Please explain in technical AND laymen's terms please.
