Wow, I missed the Emotiva 5 channel coming. Maybe it's a good thing I'll need to wait a bit before getting anything.....

So I'd connect all my speakers to the emotiva - ands then use rca cables to connect the emotiva to the onkyo and nothing else would change right? The rca cables don't downgrade anything audio video wise right?

yep that's all you do. And that won't degrade any of the sound quality.

Seriously, I have no life.
Well all 5 of my current speakers have 10 inch subwoofers built in so I have plenty of bass for now until I get a larger room to use. I'm looking at possible an emotive amp and powering the front two towers with it and using my onkyo for the rest. Im curious about how I would hook the amp, reciever, and speakers all together.
Yes, you have 5 of those but how low can they go and at what spl levels? And, how well can they perform in their predetermined locations?
By the way, are those 10" self powered?

dnice, just so you know, the DT Supertowers and other powered woofer products provide excellent bass for music. But to get the deepest, more powerful, visceral bass for movies, a good separate subwoofer(s) is required. For the price, the SVS PB13-Ultra already mentioned is an excellent performer. How large is your room?

The 10 inch subs in the speakers are self powered by 300 watt digital internal amps. My room is towards the smalled size (I'm in a condo for now) but when I get my house I will definatley be purchasing a nice sub :D. I'm just conerned mainly about my onkyo's load - I'm thinking and emotiva or those outlaws would take some of the load off.

Emo no longer allows less then 7 modules to be sold with the MPS

I wanted to buy it with 3 or 5 monoblocks myself last month but they no longer allow this - said it was causing an inventory problem so they stopped doing it.

I ended up getting the IPS-1 Amp, 7X150w and it's very nice. I also have an Outlaw 7700 and they make VERY nice Amps so you cannot go wrong with the Mono-blocks, provided you have enough plugs!:D

Good call I only have outlet left I may need an extension cord - is it feasible to use two power cleaners?

IMO "NEVER" use an extension cord for A/V components.

Do you have an surge protector? Get one with enough outlets.

And not a Monster surge protector. TrippLite (Isobar)

Well I have a panamax ex5300 for all my components but my back two surrouds are going into a surge protector - one cord can't reach so i used an extension cord. Is that dangerous for the speaker?

I would use a surge protector (power strip)

for that surround, instead of the extension cord.

The Outlaw 2200's are excellent performers and they mate very well with my Integra DTC-9.8! :D
