Amp on Hardwood Floor or Stand?

Looking for advice. I presently have a nice ventilated space behind my TV stand in 2 of my setups where I keep my external amplifiers.

They are well ventilated (use AC Infinity Fans).

The have feet and sit directly on the hardwood floors. I haven't had any issues but was considering buying the little 4 inch stands to put under them.

Is there any point to that or wasting money?

I'm sure it would be 100% necessity if I had carpet but that's not the case here.

If you have a super bouncy floor and are the type prone to worry about isolating your Amps, then the answer would be "sure," do what you need to to feel good about your setup. ;)
If you aren't the type to worry about whether some slight vibrations are creating distortions in your rig, then, no... but you can still do it if you think it will make you feel better about your system! :D

I don't see any point in little 4 inch stands....won't exactly raise them up to a more useful height....

Thanks, I just wondered if there is value to get them off the floor. I don't know how raising AMPs to any particular level would help

But since it's a hard wood floor, not sure that hurts the amp at all. Like Ryan says, perhaps if the floor moves but our hard wood floor is on concrete it probably doesn't.

Some of the more Phool-ish will maintain that slight vibrations are detrimental to your sound quality and/or equipment longevity. I can see this perhaps being a concern with Tubes, but not really anything more modern, i.e. Solid State.

In this day and age, such things should be relegated to "Audio-Bling." ;)

Maybe to reach the on/off switch or make connections/adjustments......I don't need to often enough to raise mine up off the floor....
