I would like to know if my receiver is powerful enough or if I should run an amp for better sound quality.

Marantz sr5003 Receiver
Def Tech Mythos 2 Left and right
Def Tech Mythos 3 center
Martin Logan Helos 20 surrounds

I am currently running a 5.1 system with a living room size of 20x20.

If an amp is suggested what would be a good quality amp for a reasonable price as far as cost to value would go.

Thanks

Mike

If anything, the front 3, but unless you feel your lacking or your Marantz can fry an egg.... stay the course

I agree with bandphan. However, if you have the itch, you need to look for an amp with more power like the Emotiva XPA-5.

An amp will not hurt but with the tiny 4.5" woofers in a 20X20 room you may find yourself wanting larger speakers soon after the amp addition. Should you decide on adding an amp now I would suggest you get the maximum power you can afford so you won't be wanting more when you upgrade your speakers eventually. Amps such as Adcom's seem to last forever so don't be too concerned about used one.
