amp/mixer/pa question from a newbie

ok,,im really just getting started here,,i need to learn,thats why im here,,,i jus tinvested in some pa equipment ,because i love music,,,,i hace a two channel mixer,two amps,one to drive pa mains,,the other to drive sub bin..my mixer is a small dj two channel mixer with only one master output(L & R rca)and a rec out...i need to hook both of my amps up though,,i was running two splitters off the back of my mixer to do this,,,then i was laufghed at in a few other forums and couldnt seem to get the right answer on how to hook my stuff up right..lol....how do i hook this stuff up,,the only other way i know how would be to run both amps in mono bridge mode( left to one,right to the other) and run my mains daisey chained,,,,,any advice for me,,,help pls:)

Splitting one preamp outs to several power amps is a valid solution.

It worked, didn't it? Nothing smoked, did it?

Why did they laugh and what alternatives did they propose?

lol,,,thats funny,,i thought i was right to do this,,,a few other people told me that it was wrong and it would kill my sound quality and cut my signal down....thanx for your reply markw...appreciated...are there benefits of bridging as described above or should i stick to my splitter?
