Amp installation help

I have 2 Behringer A500 and the Behringer 31 band eq (FBQ3102) on its way (should possibly be here today) and I need installation guidance. My equipment is in my signature. The amps will be bridged to drive the polk RTi10 towers only for music listening. I have a cd player and will soon have a tape deck and turntable.

1. How do I connect the amps to the receiver and eq or eq and receiver?

2. How do I connect the tape deck, cd player and turntable to be EQ'd and fed via the amp (not sure if my terminology is correct here). Or basically, how do I put interconnect the equipment with the amp, EQ and reciever?

3. What cables are needed make the proper connections?

Any help is much obliged.

To be sure, you want to use the A500 for music and the Denon receiver for everything else?

It will not be possilbe to connect the speakers to the receiver and A500 and use them one at a time. If you are thinking of using the two sets of binding posts at the back of speakers, the receiver and A500 will be shorted at the binding post and will cause problems since one will feed Line (or speaker) level signal to the speaker connection of the other, depending on what is powered up. You can probably put a 2 way switch in this manner and make do... see attached image.

If you use the receiver pre-outs, the A500s will drive the speakers at all times.

Why do you need the EQ? The Denon has the Audessy EQ system and the ability to manually tweek FR.

Thanks Peng for clearing that up because he had me going for a second there - whew.

I have the amps connected to the system now. I did not install the EQ yet though. The amps improved my sounds quiet nicely. I will add my comments to that large Behringer A500 post floating out there.

But to answer the ? as to why I need an EQ - I plan to install a tape deck and turntable and would like to alter the sounds as necessary - hell I even still have an 8-track tape player and 8 -track tapes that I may connect to the system:eek: :D
