I am constructing my home theater and need help with suggesting an Amp and Preamp for a 7.2 setup. Not sure on my budget but I don't want to go too crazy.
The space is rather large (18' w X 65' d). My theater will only be 18x16 but the back is open. 100" progector. 50% theater, 30% music, and 20% Xbox.
I really like Crown amps but unsure on the preamp. How about Integra? My local guy is an Integra dealer. I am not worried about the heat because my equipment is located 45' from the theater.
I am undecided on speakers (need help here as well as well). Here are some speakers that I like:
Paradigm Signature S6, Klipsch RF7s, Polk Audio LXiM, RBH, Axion? or open for suggestions. My local guy sells Atlantic Technology and suggested AT-1s. He does not have these speakers so I don't know what they sound like. They just don't seem big enough. All I know is I want larger floor standing mains, very good and larger center, perhaps surround diploles, and 2 non powered subs. Any suggestions for powering two subs with 12" drivers? I believe I will need a 2nd amp? I really like the sound of more speakers rather than rely on just 1 or 2 smaller speakers and porting from the box and subs.
Again, all I have is the projector and screen. I'm ready to pull the trigger on everything else but would love any help please. Thanks!
