They jack the prices up on individual movies to compensate for the perceived savings.

IT's the same movies they've been trying to push for months. I miss HD DVD if only for the awesome BD BOGO's that Amazon used to have when there was competition.

If you are a western fan, Pale Rider, Unforgiven, and The Wild Bunch are $11.49 each. Pale Rider looks particularly good.
