You've done a great job with that room. I really want to hear those Axiom's systems one day. How do you keep the gear cool inside that rack?

Very nice!

Now all you need is room treatments! :D

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Mazersteven, the equipment stays cool due to the fact that there is plenty of space and circulation between components...If I remember correctly, aren't you in Melbourne? I'm in Vero.

Sheep, although there is quite a lot to be done yet I'm not certain if room treatments will be in the mix or not...but who knows? ;)

The room measures 14' x 25' x 7'6", all in-wall cabling and has it's own 20 amp electrical circuit for the amps.

Very clean looking setup and I really like the room! I bet that EP600 just rocks as do the M80s, very envious guy here.;)

I'm no expert but I've read that having two centers set the way you do can produce some negative effects such as cancellation and comb filtering. Does it work for you and if so, was it hard to calibrate?

Again, wicked setup none the less!!:D

Edit: Love the lack of wires anywhere in the room. Something I need to address with my setup.

Beautiful room.....................

I also agree with sheep. If you think it sounds good now, you ain't heard nothing yet!! Once you take care of your room reflections, your room will really sing!!

You can get acoustic panels in all types of colors that will compliment your room, and they will greatly improve on the sound that you already have.

I purchased the above, and the difference was immediately noticable after treating.

Good luck & nice spread!

Thanks for the kind words Matt! I haven't had any negative effects with the two center channel speakers in this configuration, prior to the addition of the second center I made a phone call to Axiom and they said that there should be no problem with running them like this providing the amp can handle the impedance...which the H/K does just fine.

Another Central Florida Audioholic!

Beautiful system. That Axiom sub is a MONSTER

Do you have an AC vent for the component rack? I have my stuff in a component closet that's bigger than that and with the doors closed you could cook meat on the amp after a couple hours if I didn't have ventilation. I also installed a rack fan system under the amp that has three 5" fans with speed control.

Ax-man,

Beautiful room. Thanks for the pics - wish more guys would post their setups.

The mustard walls are awesome with the white trim. You must know an interior designer, because that color is in this year. Last year it was peanut butter. No joke.

So what part of the house is this? Do you have any issues with rattling due to the massive sub? I bet movie night is awesome.

You should add a pic with the grills on.

Thanks Buckeyefan1....actually this was a screen room that was added to the back part of our 'L' shaped house just before we moved in back in '99.

This past winter I enclosed the screened room using PT 2"x10"s, 3/4" PT plywood covered by stucco on the outside. The inside is all doubled R19 insulation and 5/8" sheet rock, the interior walls were the original concrete block walls which were (at the time) the exterior walls of the house. I used 1"x2" firring strips and filled the void with 3/4" R-Max sheathing and the double doors leading into the house are exterior doors so the sound going into the main living area is very, very minimal and knock on wood we haven't chipped or cracked any drywall *yet*. There were a lot of other things along the way...like removing an in-ground spa, concrete and floor leveling along with a few other odds and ends but the project is finally getting very close, a few details are about all that is left. It's been fun, and a whole lot of work!

Here's your requested picture....grills on, my preferred way. ;)

That is an amazing and beautiful setup. I really like that color on the walls.
It looks like you have done a great job on hiding all of your wires. I think that this is overlooked by many people.

Thanks guys and gals(?) for all of the very nice comments, I really appreciate them! ... Buckeye_Nut, along with a few more folks have convinced me into room treatments and I'm just starting to dab with the treatments. Thus far I've added the GIK Acoustics Tri-Traps bass traps and am happy with the results, work has restrained me from graphing and tweaking but during the winter I'm hoping to be able to spend some time with the system and have some more treatments installed along with finishing the trim and getting everything tidied up.

Here are a couple more pics but keep in mind ... I'm not finished!

Hey Ax-man,

Where's the universal remote?:p (I need to buy one myself)

How do you like the sound of the mains moved out into the room? I can't do that in my room...well I can but I have to put them back when done.

Very nice set up!

StringbadF1 believe it or not I do have a Harmony 880 universal remote but for the life of me I haven't been able to dial it in since we've added the TV. It seems to go off on some weird tangents at times so I parked it for the time being. Either a Crestron or Marantz universal remote will replace the Harmony sometime in the future.

I set the speakers up using the Rives Audio recommendations *or there abouts* (1/5th room length distance from the front wall) and I must say I have found a huge difference regarding soundstage and imaging, the toe-in was a bit tricky getting dialed in but whenever I did the results we truley amazing ... I sometimes wonder if folks spend the time getting their speakers placed like they should, it does make a huge difference abeit a time consuming chore!

I have noticed the Axiom M80s do like to have some breathing room and they do like some power.

I really like to the clean installation and equipment selection. This is a beautiful room that you should be proud of. I know how hard it is to share a home theater with a living space.

I see you moved your speakers and I like the distance from the back wall but I would suggest moving them further from the side walls, as well.

You seem to have plenty of bass capabilities so I would try placing the sub closer to the tv (more centered for better sound to couch an adjacent seats). I am sure you noticed quite a difference in sound already with the addition of the panels and moving your speakers forward.

Good Luck and keep up posted. Once again, nicely done!
