i have spent weeks researching products and have made a selection that i hope will work well together. the first thing i was trying to do was stay within my budget $5,000 and also not dissapoint myself when i had it home and hooked up.
denon AVR 3806
denon DVD-1920
klipsch RB-81 reference system:
front RB-81's on 30" stands
center RC-62
rear RS-52's mounted on wall
sub RSW-10
Panamax 5500-EX power conditioner
i have went with all monster cables for hooking t.v., tivo and dvd to receiver. also went with 14 gauge monster speaker wire on speakers, about the speaker wire the sales rep i talked to said to use 4 cond wire so i could take the jumpers off the back of the terminal post on speakers and split connections for better sound. is this recommened?

1) Denon receiver model is probably typo'd. The correct one is 3806. Unless you absolutely must have the newest model, stay away from current generation HDMI switching receivers. See this thread for details, http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21194
1) Get a different subwoofer. Try Axiom (EP-350 and above), SVS, AV123, etc.
2) Return the Monster speaker cables and get any 12 gauge speaker wire from Home Deopt or Lows. It will work just as well.
3) No need for wires with 4 cores. Leave the bridge on the speaker terminals in place. Unless you have independent crossovers and amplifiers (monoblocks) powering the woofers and tweeters seperately, its just snake oil.

It was a typo, your right a 3806 sorry. I am keeping my 4yr old 60" tv for now so i didnt plan on using hdmi now but wanted something so when i upgrade in the next year i would already have it. Thanks for the info on the wire, my rear speakers are around 60ft away and the fronts are around 12ft so should i use 12gauge wire on everything?

Your rears are 60 feet away? Man, that's a big room ya got there.

room is 20'Lx14'W with 9ft ceilings. now im looking for a universal remote kinda leaning towards logitech's harmony 880. from what i've read denon's are not easy to set-up, can ayone give me some tips on connections or where to look at wiring diagrams?

Setup info.

Read a few of the articles on this site for suggested speaker locations and wiring and setup information. Once you have everything hooked up, the autosetup feature on the Denon will adjust most of the speaker levels and distances for you.
Make sure that the center channel speaker matches the mains. Does the 62 Center have the same size drivers as the 81 mains?
Also, make sure you audition Klipsch and other manufacturers at the dealer like Paradigm, PSB, etc. The Klipsch horn loaded tweeters play loud with minimum power and are great for HT but they are not for everyone. Aside from the overpriced monster stuff, you have the makings for a great system.

one concern i have is the placement of the center channel speaker. the only place i have to put it is on top of my tv which is 63" tall. when i am sitting that will put the speaker about 15" above my head, now i will be 16' to 17' away from the speaker also. i didnt know if i could somehow point the speaker down a little so its firing towards me instead of above my head? the 81 has a 1" tweeter and 8" woofer while the 62 has a 1" tweeter and dual 6.5" woofers. all the speakers are suppose to be a matched set for home theater according to the klipsch site.

That's where my center is also, but I'm 9' away. Just angling it down a little will be fine. Nice setup BTW. The Denon manual should provide all the connections and wiring diagrams you need.

Nothing like buying a new setup. Congrats.

PS: Be cautious. That feeling you are experiencing is addictive. Pretty soon you will want to replace everything just to feel that feeling again.

I know I do. :D

Have fun.

your right i already have visions of a 60" plasma dancing in my head (LOL). everything is ordered now, the only thing i changed was going to a rsw-12 sub. i did cancell the 4 conductor speaker wire and plan on getting some 2 wire locally.
