Alesis AR300 is the choice

After carefully considering which type of new amplifier will be taking place over my vintage Marartz 1050 and 1030 amplifies Alesis was the choice. I decided on the RA300 for powering the JBL Control 5 arrays in bi-amplification mode with the Behringer DCX2496 which I already have installed.

Now all that is needed is a new bank of amplifiers to power the JBL Control 5.x3 Alesis RA300 will be required for the present three-screen that I have up front, and possibly five-screen at a later date.

Also I’m going to install around x4 more for the JBL Control 1 surround arrays, and quite possibly a fifth Alesis RA300 for an extra surround surprise!

So with one Alesis RA300 already installed that I brought at a bargain from Turnkey, based here in London UK, and after calling them today to order the second Alesis RA300, they where out of stock so I asked is there anywhere else in the UK that might have the Alesis RA300 in stock? I was pointed towards Digital Village also based in London UK.

So I called Digital Village, “good afternoon do you have a the Alesis RA300 in stock please for early dispatch?” “Hold let me see” “yes we do.”

Well that was music top my ears, and after giving my details over the phone, looks like the second Alesis RA300 will be dispatched tomorrow for a Friday delivery.

Only x5 more for the JBL Control 5 and 1’s! Plus I’ll be installing an Alesis RA500 for the JBL 4645 sub bass with additional Behringer DCX2496 and for the surrounds as well.

It starts here and it’s going to be the most exciting summertime project since the installation of the JBL Control 1 last summertime 2006.

This was installed two weeks ago, the only thing different is I’ve placed the Marartz 1030 on the floor to the left-hand side next to the rest of the amplifiers to reduce heat! The Alesis RA 300 does get warm!

Also I’ll be considering rack systems for the whole set-up right though the entire sound system including laserdisc DVD AVR and other Dolby processors so it’s going to be bumpy ride.;)

I do like that rack system that you’ve put together very nice. I see that you have the Alesis RA150.

What drew me to Alesis, well about 17 years ago I brought the Alesis RA100 pictured below! I sold it after a mere few years around 1993 as the shop selling them was quite dear at around £300.00 pounds.

But now there’s a better way of getting high powered performance amplifiers for the studio or the PA world or Home Cinema. So the choice started after Turnkey whose one of England’s leading PA music store suppliers, well they didn’t have any Beheinger A500 in stock so I looked at what else they had and noticed the Alesis RA300 would suit the JBL Control 5 and 1 series.

The first Alesis RA300 was an ex-demo model and at £74.99 delivered that was so choice. After calling them on Wednesday 13th June to see they had anymore in stock, the answer was no. So I looked elsewhere and after placing an order though Digital Village based here in the UK, the second Alesis RA300 was delivered today.

So this is the choice of amplification I’m going with and at £126.00 delivered that’s more than good enough for the task.

Three-screen bass response on Titanic original first edition region 2 DVD is so choice with the Alesis RA300.
