That's a nice little integrated amplifier. It's nothing extraordinary, but would be fine to drive efficient speakers like your CVs or some small bookshelf speakers in a nearfield environment. Since you have that amp you might start looking for a small pair of bookshelf speakers from a manufacturer like Boston Acoustics, Paradigm, Polk, Infinity, Cambridge Audio and countless others for a nice bookshelf system for a bedroom. I think it would be cool to get you addicted to accuracy over loudness (your ears will thank you in the long term when you are thankfully NOT deaf from listening to loud music on the CVs).:D:D

Some loose specs I found.

Thanks for the info, yeah would be great for a bedroom setup. it has a few issues as one channel barely works and the other produces crakling bass. all fuses inside are intact and i cant see any burnt tracks on the circuts. i did discover the main fuse was blown and someone had wrapped it in tin foil to fix it!!!! i dont know whether this would cause the sound probs. I do love the sound of the cerwins, i usually listen at a moderate volume and find them quite clear and fairly accurate, although this is my opinion. they are used mostly for tv and movie use, so critical music listening is not a requirement for me. i like the fact the cv fronts and sub handle the movie volume i like and the sudden dramatic volume increases you get with movies. my old system was DB dynamics fronts and sub which just couldnt do it. lol:D

Sounds like the amp has problems. Did you get the correct value fuse in it? The noise might be dirty pots. How dirty is the amplifier?

Bump! I have a similar problem apart form the fact that all my channels are now dead quiet and i beleive there to be a grounding issue as whenever i touch the volume dial I can hear a small crack from the speakers! 5 years later I hope someone found a solution! :p
