Anyone have ideas as to how best to use/set up the corner shown below for a basic home theater & music listening set up (~ 60% music, 40% TV/movies)?
Where would you locate speakers and what brand/type would you recommend for this application? Is it even practical to try and use this corner? I'm trying to maximize the space and layout of the floor plan shown below. I thought about putting the set up where the recliner is shown but then I only have seating for those on the couch and an unused corner (I suppose a very small chair could fit in the corner but nothing someone would want to sit on long enough to watch a movie).
The ceiling is 8-1/2' high (I'll prob have to relo the thermostat and switch and probably remove the French doors as well) and room features wood floors. Practical to mount speakers up that high on wall above door trim? The TV is a 40" LCD Samsung I planned on hanging off wall at angle.
I don't have any speakers or a receiver yet; brands/models to recommend (consider a budget of $2500)? Any advice appreciated, and looking forward to learning AV on this forum!
