Hello. I'm new here love this site. I always have reverted back to it and finally decided to sign up. Anyway, I have a pioneer elite vsx 21txh receiver that I have had for about a year now. Love the power and function of it. I know it's slightly dated now but it works great! I have it paired with a pioneer elite bluray bdp 80fd. I just purchased it. I set everything up through my Panamax power conditioner and for now have been running front energy take classic speakers with center channel and rear surround klipsch reference r14s set up about 6 feet. I am running 2 subs-energy 8" down firing. The system is loud and with a good bluray movie it actually shakes the walls and living room. I was wondering if anyone has any advise on maybe an upgraded from speaker setup and maybe what some of you are running. I'm always in the search for better and I know the energy speakers are small and not putting out the potential of the system. Thank you in advance.

Would be helpful to know your budget. Otherwise I’m inclined to recommend something like the Legacy Helix ($48,000/pr.). :)

Lol. A little out of my price range. I guess under $1000 or around would be ok.

I like the Ascend Acoustics and Wave Crest Audio recommendations above.

If you like it loud and dynamic, you should also check out the speaker/sub Package Deals from Hsu Research.

For a medium sized room, the Hybrid 2 Package. For a larger room, the Hybrid 3 HP Package. [I'm tempted to say the Hybrid 3 HP Package regardless of room size, because the VTF-3 MK5 HP is a terrific sub for the money.]

In both cases, a 3.1 package would be ideal if you can manage it. (The Klipsch surrounds would be fine until you can get another pair of Hsu's.) However, if you can only manage a 2.1 package initially, you can run the Pioneer in "phantom center" mode for the interim.

Edit: Saw in your other thread that your room is 20ft x 25ft. Assuming an 8ft ceiling, that's 4000ft^3 - a large room. Definitely in VTF-3 MK HP territory. ;)

Edit 2: Just found this via the AVS Seaton thread: Home Theater Shack | The "Best Of" AXPONA 2015. Scroll down a bit for: Best Real World Gear: ... :D

I bought a Hsu VTF-2 recently, and though it's more than I *need* it's a a great boon to my system, music or movies.

SVS has comparable subs (though you can't vary the sealed/ported configuration like a Hsu VTF sub), and offers free shipping to you, and return if you dislike them.

Both Hsu and SVS have speaker packages, I've read some glowing reviews of the SVS combo sets. If I was shopping for a speaker set, I'd be inclined to try SVS first.

With $1000 budget might consider building up a good speaker setup a little at a time. I like to buy used gear that's been loved. It saves a lot of money. I like RBH, B&W, and Paradigm.
