I'm struggling to decide what reciever I should buy, both are about the same price. I will be powering Infinty CS80R in ceiling speakers...which will be used mostly for music, with a movie here and there. Wich one wold you guys pick?

I can't tell you how they sound, but I can tell you I wouldn't touch Harmon stuff again after the AVR 4000 I had gave up the ghost at less than 2 years old, (humming in all modes, nothing to do with grounding or shorting) and the Harmon DVD 10 was replaced within months as it could not tolerate anything but perfect discs.

Have a look at the build quality before you decide. Maybe I was just unlucky....

2106 is rock solid. A great performer for the money. I haven't dealt with Hk stuff in years but never liked it much then. Denon is the way to go for the money.

Comparing the specs on the two, it is a toss up. Assuming you are buying from an authorized retailer, IMHO, go for whichever has the authorized service center closer to your home.

Thanks for the replies. I'm actually going to pick up a 1906 today. Since this will be a receiver for my parents and they won't be blasting their music I figure 85 watts/channel will suffice.

Oh, and the deal is great...$425 from an authorized dealer!
